Heroes Fail, in picture form
Nov. 17th, 2009 08:28 am'Kay, I still enjoy the show (hated a lot of last season though). Last night was all right--it's all leading towards an ending for my favorite character that I dread...*sigh* ...but anyway, I was reading the unfunnybusiness wank report and someone posted this great image of what I was complaining to
rinnaldo about last night:

Those are the actors listed as series regulars for each season.
Yeah. Remember when there were like three interracial couples, and POC characters with, like, stuff to do and shit? I miss that.

Heroes 3.11
Dec. 1st, 2008 09:39 pmOkay, so spare me if you've heard this before (or have stated it before. I promise this will get around to Heroes fairly quickly.)
I hate the message of The Incredibles. Really, really hate it. So Syndrome wants to give everybody the powers of the superheroes by selling them gadgets, right? Everyday, ordinary people suddenly able to experience super strength, flight, control over energy fields, etc. Aside from the rank capitalism, what's wrong with that? Well, apparently, if everybody's special, then nobody's special.
Fuck that shit. You can be perfectly damn special if everyone else has the same damn opportunities you do.
So...as you might imagine...
( I totally side with Nathan on this one. )

Shh....TV...
Nov. 26th, 2008 08:08 pmFirst, ( Sarah Conner Chronicles )
Second, Pushing Daisies:
I AM SO BUMMED THIS IS GOING OFF THE AIR. We got caught up on the ep we missed last week, and geez, it's building up some terrific steam for a great collision of characters, and it's GOING AWAY!!! :( :( :( I hope some network will try to pick it up again, because it's the best freaking thing on TV right now.
Third, ( Heroes )
Top Chef reruns are making me hungry. Good thing Thanksgiving's tomorrow.

Hmm. Heroes meta, of a sort...
Dec. 6th, 2007 10:18 amSo...this silly story was just posted to
heroes_fic called Tacotoes Canspray Is Hungry!. It's a cracky little one-shot thing, but the title was confusing and strange, so I checked it out. And I feel kind of weirded out...not because of the subject matter (cannibalism), but because of how the author chose to render the name Takezo Kensei throughout the story: as "Torpedo Ginseng" and "Tacotoes Canspray". Leaving aside the canonical choice of "Adam" to use a Japanese name for his mercenary campaigns, never mind the use of a Caucasian man to originate the legend (yes, I know Hiro technically *is* the legend himself)...how appropriate is it to further Anglicize it to something so utterly silly? I feel like it's a step away from the already extant jokes about Asian names, and not in a good direction.
Thoughts? I don't feel like mentioning this in the post itself at the moment, that never seems to end well for me :-P
