So...a lot of shit went down. Niki is probably really really REALLY dead, since she got kinda blowed up and all. It kind of works for me that her story is over, because her arc was not really going much of anywhere (although I would've enjoyed watching her work as Mohinder's partner, and she hardly ever got to use her power again) and at least it was a "better" death than DL's HORRIBLE STUPID MEANINGLESS one. But it feels just a smidgen like a contrivance to keep Micah hanging out with Monica more (not that I'm complaining about Monica, 'cause I really like her!)

(Although, um, hey, couldn't Monica have, like, watched a fricking MacGuyver episode to learn how to escape these things or something?)

Mohinder, Molly, Sylar & Maya: That was pretty fun, actually. Mohinder's sheer terror of Sylar in his home, near Molly...Sylar's eye-rolling reaction to Maya standing up to him (and dude, Maya finally really asserting herself? That's good)...and then using that incident to test out Claire's blood...and Elle taking her own initiative to go after Sylar, even if she wasn't quite up to par yet on that one. She's still crazy as all hell, but it'll be interesting to see how she uses it in the future.

And...the virus plot.

Another writerly quibble: Peter could've walked right into the vault with Adam. I mean, I get it, he couldn't have had that standoff with Hiro, or faced off with Matt, or had that all-important conversation with Nathan...but it was annoying to know that he has DL's power and didn't use it in that case.

Heh heh. Hiro trapped Adam in a coffin. That's just freaking horrible. And kind of horribly badass of Hiro to do, as well. Too bad he didn't know about the taking-heads thing...but this works. Horribly.

OKAY WHY DID THE SYMBOL APPEAR IN THE ASH ON PETER'S HAND?!??!?

AND NOOOOOOO...NOT NATHAN AGAIN, YOU BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...at least he got to fly around a bit this season, even if it was mostly in service of Matt's jetsetting lifestyle *snickered more than a little at that part* but GODDAMMIT, ANGELA, YOU BITCH, YOU SENT SOMEONE AFTER YOUR OWN SON!!! AAAAUUUUUUGH!!!!!

*sniffles* I'm just scared that now his whole "redemption" arc is complete so they'll let him be DEAD dead. And now Peter'll spend even more time feeling guilty about what happened to Nathan...

Anyway. It was definitely good. I have to wonder, what's going to happen with Claire though? She doesn't want a normal life anymore, not in service of fear...will she be following her bio-dad's trail and trying to bring the Company to light, as she's already considered?

AUGH NATHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA: Okay, so one thing that bodes...um, sort of well, is that the news report Angela was watching made no mention of Nathan's actual death, only that he was shot by an assassin. And...technically, the commercial said that two Heroes die...well, Niki's probably dead dead, and Maya definitely had a dead moment, so that covers that, right?

Peter is sort of a dumbass for forgetting about walking through. I mean, I can understand trying the break the vault door to start, but after you get a bloody nose, it's time to look for alternate methods.

It actually makes sense that Peter doesn't walk into through vault though. Note that Adam specifically directs Peter to knock down the door even though he knows full well that Peter can walk through walls. I think Adam needed Peter to break the door so that he could go in alone. If they had just walked in together, Adam would have had a hard time explaining why they don't just destroy the virus right there. Also, if Peter had a change of heart, he could just leave Adam inside of the vault. This way is much better for Adam's purposes.
