I did have a very nice birthday weekend (up until I nearly broke my nose, but more on that in a moment).
Friday night
rinnaldo,
wheloc and another one of Ronnie's gaming group and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean (which I already mentioned) at midnight. Then Ronnie and I went home and fell asleep. :) I'd planned on waking up at 10 on Saturday because the old X-men reruns are apparently now on ABC Family at that time and I *love* the old X-Men cartoon...but didn't manage to and slept right on until about 12:30 or so. We put my name on the lease so I can officially start moving my stuff into Ronnie's apartment, hooray! :) Then we went to the mall for part of my birthday present; Ronnie surprised me with a haircut appointment so I could get my Very Thick Hair made Not So Thick (ahh, summer). It's much lighter and a bit shorter now. We had dinner at Cottage Inn and came home and watched the other part of my present,
Memento. The DVD box is really cool. It resembles a file folder with "Shelby, L." printed on part of the inner flaps...there are even extra little slips of paper that have psychological tests on them.
Sunday (my actual birthday, for those who Didn't Know) I did manage to wake up and watch X-Men :) Thennn we met up with
hellosarah for lunch at the Memphis
Smokehouse...mmm, ribs. Best place to go for service
ever. Plus, damn good ribs. After lunch, Ronnie and I cleaned a bit...and then it was time to meet my family for dinner, so we went back to campus. We had reservations for the Japanese steakhouse side of Champion House...always good food and entertaining, too (think BeniHana, or however you spell that). I got green tea ice cream. :) Steph (my sister) gave me a wedding cake candle (geez, she's so into this wedding thing) and a photo cube with pictures of the two of us on each side. It spins, just like the cube on campus :)
After all of thaat...I moved some of my stuff over to Ronnie's apartment. In order to transport said stuff it had to go in the trunk of our car, of course. (Echoes are small.) When Ronnie leaned in to get the laundry basket out he whacked his head on the latch of the trunk...I said "I'll get you some ice when we go inside" and we brought all the stuff in. I retrieved Flavor Ice from the freezer for Ronnie's head...after a little while he was done with it so I went to put it back (he was trying to do something with the computer at the time). As I put the Flavor Ice back in the freezer I noticed Darwin's soccerball on the floor and so was not doing a particularly good job of estimating distance between freezer door and face. Freezer door met nose upon closing. Painfully, because who closes a freezer door carefully? You don't. You slam it. Flavor Ice that had previously been on Ronnie's head went on my nose. Blood freezes really quickly.
Anyway. So then we listened to Bree Sharp and cleaned the bedroom and that just about sums up my birthday weekend (leaving out the TMI parts, of course ;) ;) :-D)
