So...this silly story was just posted to [livejournal.com profile] heroes_fic called Tacotoes Canspray Is Hungry!. It's a cracky little one-shot thing, but the title was confusing and strange, so I checked it out. And I feel kind of weirded out...not because of the subject matter (cannibalism), but because of how the author chose to render the name Takezo Kensei throughout the story: as "Torpedo Ginseng" and "Tacotoes Canspray". Leaving aside the canonical choice of "Adam" to use a Japanese name for his mercenary campaigns, never mind the use of a Caucasian man to originate the legend (yes, I know Hiro technically *is* the legend himself)...how appropriate is it to further Anglicize it to something so utterly silly? I feel like it's a step away from the already extant jokes about Asian names, and not in a good direction.

Thoughts? I don't feel like mentioning this in the post itself at the moment, that never seems to end well for me :-P
