I'm 800 words into my
yuletide fic and it's going pretty well; I was worried because I'd only gotten 300 or so words as of this evening, but working on the laptop in bed turned out to be something of a good push. :) Now how to get my planned ending to start threading through the rest of this...

Oct. 5th, 2007 09:56 pmYay, signups for yuletide are open!!
Now, I can't do Heroes again, so...what should I sign up to write? *ponders*
ETA: Signed up. Might change one of my offerings since I'm not sure I have the best access to canon for it...well, I guess there's always the library...but yeah, I think I know what I want to do. :D

While I'll probably get to the individual comments sometime today, I wanted to thank the nice people who commented on my story and even went so far as to rec it :)
I wrote How Everything Turns Away, a Heroes fic about (who else) Nathan, in the future, after things have gone badly. I haven't seriously partaken in fanfic in a long time, but
yuletide was a lot of fun and it's definitely inspired me to participate in more challenges, and to act on more random fic ideas that pop up in the night. So...be forewarned, my flist! You thought the last couple of months' squeeing over Heroes was bad? Well, now you're gonna get fanfic, too. :D
(Ooh, look! Dinosaurs on the Rose Parade!)

yuletide count, two days later
Dec. 27th, 2006 10:55 amI've read 127 of the 1055 fics. I think I've read almost everything in every fandom/source I know (although I spotted a couple more as I was checking off stories on the list).
Also,
rinnaldo figured out which one I wrote, although I gave him a bit of a head start by telling him in which fandom I'd written. :-P And my recipient likes it, so I'm happy :)
Also,

:D
This is the fantastic story I got; it's TH White's Once and Future King fic, about the Orkney brothers. And it freaking rocks. Like, if I didn't know it was a fic, it would fit completely perfectly into the book and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. So thank you, Yuletide Santa! I love it. :D

all quiet in the ed office
Dec. 19th, 2006 11:39 amIt's really snowy out right now; Wunderground.com has it as "light snow mist", which is SUCH bullshit. This is definitely snow. I can't see Mesa Verde, and I can just make out the other side of the canyon from my window. Pretty, though. Wish I'd remembered to take the camera with me this morning.
Since there's really no one here, I'm taking this opportunity to finish my
yuletide fic--which I know I said I was going to finish on, like, Friday or something, but my beta had a lot of good comments, so there's some major revision that had to happen. *shrugs* It's really kind of relaxing; I've got one of my favorite CDs on, no one's coming and going, and I'm just...writing.
And compulsively checking LJ, of course. :)

writing &
yuletide
Nov. 3rd, 2006 01:23 pmI decided I would try to be more productive with writing this year. No Nano; that just doesn't seem to work for me, sadly, but I have been doing what
rinnaldo is, which is to write at least one sentence a day. I've managed that (and often, whole paragraphs) since my birthday. Oh, and I've written some curriculum for work, but that doesn't count, exactly...
The other part of writing more, even this late in the year, is that I signed up for a couple of fanfic challenges, including
yuletide. That'll be kind of interesting, I think.
Therefore, ( Dear Yuletide Santa, )
