[livejournal.com profile] rinnaldo and I watched "Avatar" and "Quagmire" tonight. I think Ronnie was a bit traumatized by the death of Queequeg in the latter. (Poor Queequeg.)

Random thoughts:

-I finally got the title of "Avatar". I think. If I'm not mistaken, Sharon Skinner was the avatar of AD Skinner's protective succubus and thus was able to tell him where to be at the end of the episode.
-I suppose I concur with the popular notion that Sharon did not survive the episode. She never gets mentioned again, after all, and like [livejournal.com profile] rinnaldo suggested, she isn't shown as providing any information about the driver that hit her to confirm Walter's innocence. Which she should probably have been able to do (maybe.)
-I still dislike the shot of Big Blue gracefully arching out and into the water in "Quagmire" at the end. It lends credence to Mulder's Ahab-like nature, perhaps, but it still strikes a pseudo-scientifically false note in an episode that purports to be about science.
-How deep was the water on the other side of the rock that M&S were sitting on? Their boat went down and didn't have any bits sticking up out of the water. Serious drop-off there.
-Were the stoner kids supposed to be exactly the same as the stoner kids from "War of the Coprophages"? The two that were familiar on the dock looked at a map and talked about traveling to Ft. Lauderdale, possibly lending some explanation as to their presence here. *shrugs* Over-thinking this? Of course I am.

More on New Orleans later :-P
