1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Moved away from Michigan, got a full-time job, went to Chaco Canyon, got in a car accident.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I...don't know if I made any resolutions, actually. I probably won't make any for next year, either.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! [livejournal.com profile] hellosarah did! :D

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, I don't think so.

5. What countries did you visit?
No new non-U.S. countries.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A better yard for Darwie.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
June 18th: the day Sarah had her baby
September 1st: the day I started full-time at Crow Canyon after working as a seasonal

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Working at Crow Canyon and being able to educate hundreds of students :)

9. What was your biggest failure?
Failing to see the deer in time?

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had a couple of colds, yes.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Hmmm...our Nintendo DS? :)

14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, and the cost of moving out here.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Um. Sensing a theme, perhaps? My job at Crow Canyon! :D

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
I dunno. Maybe that one song from Heroes?

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder: I think I must be happier, because we're much more financially stable, and that was a great source of stress last year.
Thinner or fatter: Probably about the same.
Richer or poorer: Richer! ;)

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing, probably.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Hmm...I don't know.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Watching the Arrested Development marathon on G4 (probably) and reading [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fics.

22. Did you fall in love in 2006?
Nope; didn't need to!

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Heroes, of course!

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hmm. I think my hatred of Rumsfeld deepened this year?

26. What was the best book you read?
Hmm...I don't know if there was any particular novel that stood out as the Best Thing I Read, but I did enjoy The Time Traveler's Wife, and the Anasazi Mysteries series.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Hm. Um...that TMBG's "The Spine" is really good?

28. What did you want and get?
*coughs* My job!

29. What did you want and not get?
Um...Lego Star Wars II.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
PotC II: Dead Man's Chest.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I went to Mesa Verde with my family. I turned 25 this year.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A job for [livejournal.com profile] rinnaldo, probably.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
...clothes that can get dirty and I won't care?

34. What kept you sane?
Was I in more danger of becoming insane than usual?

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Uh...is this where I say Heroes again? :D

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Jeez. Probably the usual stuff; women's reproductive rights, gay marriage, science education.

37. Who did you miss?
[livejournal.com profile] hellosarah, [livejournal.com profile] plummer, and [livejournal.com profile] wheloc, definitely.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Hmm...it'd have to be my new colleagues; don't know that I could single any one person out, though.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006:
I learned a lot about my own ability to be patient; I learned to be more confident in my teaching abilities. Those are kind of personal lessons, I suppose.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year life:
I almost want to say Alanis Morrissette's cover of "Crazy" works well, so let's...go with that. :)
