We are...mostly moved.
Nov. 25th, 2008 08:23 pmYeah. That was insane. I wasn't even that big of a part of it, but it was insane nonetheless. I basically dragged several of my coworkers into helping...I've become disturbingly good, over the last couple of years, at telling people that they're doing something and not really brooking any resistance. So I raced home after picking up some promised beer, ordered pizza, and right before 5, Dee and her family showed up and stuck a ton of boxes in their car. Then Alicia and Mike came over and shoved a bunch more boxes into their car. Mark showed up around 5:30 as he said he would and took a bunch of bookcases and more boxes. All three cars headed off for the new house, and then just as quickly returned for MORE BOXES (this, after we even moved a bunch of things over yesterday). I don't even know what time Ben and Paul arrived to manage THE REALLY BIG GIANT stuff, like the bed and the seven-foot couch, but when everybody was gone, pleading laundry and the fact that for a lot of other people it's still the work week...I looked at my phone and it said 7:00.
So...MY FRIENDS ARE AWESOME PEOPLE. There's obviously a ton more stuff that needs to get moved/organized/CLEANED but the major things got taken care of tonight. Hooray!! :D :D :D I love my friends :)
My mom called. I did not tell her about the job stuff.
Darwin is settling in; he was VERY excited about all the comings and goings, and barked at everybody. He's quite willing to lie around on the floor and be petted.
