Jun. 13th, 2003 09:23 am1. Describe a happy moment from your childhood.
Hmm. Okay. Let me think. It's funny, I was just recanting the tale of the Valentine's Day incident to Ronnie last night...that one's definitely NOT a happy moment. In fact, if I think about it a lot, I don't come up with a lot of happy moments from the elementary school years...it's that thing where you remember the horribly humiliating stuff best because it was so traumatizing. Eh.
Anyway.
Happy moment, happy moment, happy moment...
Okay! I've got one! In fourth grade I had my first sleepover party, for my birthday. I had all these girls over at my house from school and it was just FUN. I can't remember it better than that really except that Brynne snored and in the pictures Lynnette is holding Steph on her lap...but it was a good moment for me because up till that point I think I'd been feeling a little on the outside of the TAG program girls and then I was a little bit IN.
I got a porcelain unicorn that year. I still have it. It's pretty. :)
2. Describe a cruddy moment from your adolescence.
Again, so many to choose from!
Heh.
Um...let's see. The Derek-prom incident is quite long so I won't go into that one right now...ooh, I got one. I played tennis on the high school team, and senior year I was good enough to play at the #1 doubles spot with my partner, Lisa. We weren't that great--a 4-7 record that season for us personally--but it was tennis, and that was good. Except...the coach had, and still has, a tendency to play favorites. Matches can run a good long time if both sides are equally talented (or untalented), and it was common practice for people who were done with theirs to go watch the unfinished ones and lend some moral support. During one match, however, Lisa and I were still on the court trying to pull off at least another win...when our team fleeces arrived. The coach called everyone who wasn't playing over to pick theirs up...essentially abandoning Lisa and me down at the other end of the courts. So much for team spirit.
(Rant on tennis as a team sport some other day.)
3. Describe a favorite moment from the Museeeeeum.
The one evening event where it was you, me, Emily and Caroline and we just goofed off and talked on the radios instead of doing our jobs for a good bit. :D Also, the wildlife tours I gave not too long ago were really gratifying; the kids told me I was nice and cool and the teachers thought I did a great job and should be a teacher ;)
4. What's something you'd like to learn how to do that you haven't learned yet?
Oh lord, this is embarrassing, but I suppose I'm not the only one out there with this, uh, secret...
I'd like to learn how to ride a bike.
There. I said it. It's not my deepest darkest secret anymore if I can say it to the world!!!
Wait, now I have to find a new deepest darkest...
5. What do you want for your birthday? :D
:D Well. A Season DVD set of XF would be lovely ;) You could all split it amongst yourselves, too! :D I'll even provide the link to a cheaper place from which you could order it...
Okay! Anyone else have questions for me? I've got to write Sarahs some now...
