Because there were so many wonderful Easter eggs hidden in your story, I forgot to say I giggled at the Harry Potter reference, and the Lwaxana Accords. But I never would have gotten the Avatar reference in a million years.

So on first read-through I thought maybe Pollitt *was* the author, because I caught the reference to her fic, which had been written so recently for me. But I totally missed the reference to my *own* fic until second read-through, because I'm a moron, so once I got it I realized exactly what you were doing. Another stroke of brilliance!

It's so fun to see your process and all the ways you worked great scifi tropes into the story. It was truly amazing and I never dreamed I'd get something like this as a gift. Thank you so much, for both the effort and really stretching yourself. It paid off in spades!

Also I never would have realized you didn't have it betaed if you hadn't said. I'm not fussed at all about that kind of thing, but I know some people worry, so please don't. You have no reason to.

(Also O'Brien is my FAVORITE so the idea of Jimmy following in his standing-around-corridors footsteps is a delight.)
