Jury duty, TV, and the wedding
I guess I didn't exactly mention this a whole lot, but I was selected to serve jury duty this week for a first-degree murder trial in Detroit. Monday was jury selection, Tuesday-Thursday were spent actually hearing testimony and arguments and such, and today we deliberated and came back with a verdict. So I'm done with my civic duty for a year, at least. If you want to hear about the trial or anything, let me know, and I'll talk about that more.
The one--okay, two things--that are really good about being done with jury duty are that I don't have to drive forty miles into and out of Detroit every morning through the construction on I-94 and I don't have to pay the $8 parking fee. Yay!
We got a new TV today, because
rinnaldo may have helped kill the old (free) one. We're watching *gag* Joan Rivers on the Graham Norton Effect now. Graham Norton amuses me greatly, but I loathe, loathe, loathe Joan Rivers. I think she just made some sort of joke about having an old vagina, but I'm too disturbed by the thought of Joan Rivers' vagina to really listen more closely. *dies*
Sorry about that. *dies more*
Wedding stuff is progressing. Every couple of days we receive another invitation that wasn't quite addressed properly, but so far there are really only four that I haven't been able to deal with immediately. We're also up to 74 people who are coming :D
