I have to agree. I also have thought about these kinds of issues. The article would seem to imply that recognizing them is the first step toward changing them, but it also specifically says that disapproving of them isn't enough to change them.
Getting more white people to realize these things (because they take them for granted, never think about them, and it because it can almost taboo to specifically state them), might be a bigger, better step toward changing them, though.
I'm not really sure. I guess it would help to see some other perspectives on this.
