So, I can say yes to every single one of these statements. Does that make me priveleged? Yes. Does that mean I don't think about this stuff? Certainly not.

Most of my classmates in grad school are white women. A rough breakdown of my classmates in order of most to least would look something like this:

White women
Asian women
Black women
White and Asian men (about equal)
Latino women

What does that mean? I don't know.

My schooling gave me no training in seeing myself as an oppressor, as an unfairly advantaged person, or as a participant in a damaged culture. I was taught to see myself as an individual whose moral state depended on her individual moral will.

I resemble that remark. And I don't know how I feel about that.
Just sayin'.
